Impaled Nazarene + Tyranex + Evil-Lÿn - 9/27/2013 - Yo-Talo - Tampere

Suomi Finland Perkele! these three terms normally used to describe Finns (like "pizza spaghetti mandolin" for us Italians) go hand in hand with Impaled Nazarene since the album with the same name was released in 1994. After that, the band of Mika "Slutti666" Luttinen has gained the "cult" status in the metal scene with their brand of Black’n’roll.
Tonight they are brought here at Yo-Talo in Tampere by Bonded By Metal, together with other two very interesting acts: the Swedish thrashers Tyranex and the heavy metal band Evil-Lÿn (from the He-Man character).

Let’s start from the last one, which surprises me once again when they come on stage with yet another singer, the third in their career, namely Pekka Montin. The guys are currently working on releasing some new material, and the line-up change might have delayed it a bit. Also, I just had gotten used to see them perform with Johanna Rutto at the vocals.
The thing is, the new singer is actually pretty good, and adds some personality of his own to the five-piece. Otherwise the band looks entertaining as usual, and it’s always been a good warm-up in the gigs I’ve seen so far.
Space also to some Mercyful Fate when the guys cover "Evil". The brief gig ends with "Four Horsemen" from the Night of Delusions EP. Not bad, not at all.

Tyranex is one of those bands that I know I am going to really enjoy from the beginning to the end when they perform. And they seem to be quite fond of Finland, as they have been playing here extremely often!
The new bass player Per Lindström seems also more part of the band after the show in Steelfest in May (which was his first gig with the guys), and now we are just eagerly waiting for the second album. The band has been playing some new songs here and there ("Unable To Tame" and "Victims" tonight), and it’s one more reason to go to their live shows, if the charisma of the lead guitar and singer Linnea Landstedt wasn’t enough.
The trio manages to capture the audience once again, and some of the people as now old time fans actually calls for their songs. "Tormentor" and "Splithead" are the obvious conclusion to yet another very energetic show from the Stockholm guys, and as always they shake hands and bump fists with the Finnish audience before grabbing their well-deserved cold beers

After a quick changeover is already time for Impaled Nazarene, and we are up for a long set, for nearly 90mins of music violence made in Finland. Luttinen (you have to appreciate the Urho Kaleva Kekkonen t-shirt) from the beginning has immediately the audience on his side, which plays in the band’s favor. People start moshing and jumping from the stage, and everyone goes crazy with songs like "Let’s Fucking Die", "Motorpenis", or "Ghettoblaster". In any case IN in general is a good live band, and it’s always worth getting involved in the chaos generated in front of the stage. The atmosphere is just right here in Yo-Talo for tonight’s gig, and the guys go back to "Ugra-Karma" with "The Horny And The Horned" first, and "Kali-Yuga" later.
It’s definitely good to see everyone enjoying the show both on and off stage, despite some drunkards pushing themselves too much at times, but without bothering the performance. It’s funny to hear that for some people is even the first time watching IN live, but I am sure they were left satisfied. In fact, the ending is really conquering the audience: following the intro of "S.F.P.", the four conclude in succession with "Karmageddon Warriors"/"Goat Perversion"/"Total War Winter War". Hyvää Impaled Nazarene!
