Over The Rainbow: Preview Tour Europeo

VERSIONE ITALIANA (English Version below): Gli Over The Rainbow band formata da ex-membri dei Rainbow ed il figlio del loro fondatore Ritchie Blackmore, sono in questo momento in tour per l'Europa, che li porterà tra le altre date il 10 ottobre al Kulttuuritalo di Helsinki, ed il 17 ottobre all'Estragon di Bologna (unica data italiana).
Dopo diversi show di successo in Russia ed altri paesi dell'est Europa, finalmente il gruppo sta per arrivare nel cuore del vecchio continente portando con se una ventata di rock d'altri tempi.

NOTE BIOGRAFICHE:
La band è composta da cinque musicisti che hanno contribuito non solo alla storia della celebre band di Ritchie Blackmore, ma alla storia del Rock stesso:

Joe Lynn Turner (vocals):
Ha fatto parte dei Rainbow dall'80 fino allo scioglimento della band nell'84, dopo la parentesi di Graham Bonnet. Da qui inizia la sua carriera solista, in cui negli anni ha collaborato con musicisti del calibro di Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Glenn Hughes, e lo stesso Graham Bonnet.
La discografia di JLT è impressionante, tantissimi sono infatti i progetti e le collaborazioni a cui l'artista ha partecipato dal '76 ad oggi. Nel 2008 si viene così a creare il progetto Over The Rainbow, che include altri ex-membri dei Rainbow, ed il figlio di Ritchie Blackmore, Jurgen JR Blackmore.

Bobby Rondinelli (drums):
Membro dei Rainbow nei primi anni '80 (subentrato a Cozy Powell), decide poi anche lui per la carriera solista assieme al fratello Teddy. Ha poi fatto parte di dischi e progetti di band come Black Sabbath, DORO, Quiet Riot e Blue Oyster Cult.
Quando il tempo lo permette, Rondinelli è anche protagonista di diverse drum clinics, ed insegnante di batteria.

Greg Smith (bass):
Smith entra a far parte dei Rainbow nella reunion del '94, dieci anni dopo lo scioglimento della band, fino al 1997, registrando “Stranger In Us All”. Dopo aver già collaborato con J.L. Turner, conta partecipazioni con artisti del calibro di Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, Dokken, gli stessi Blue Oyster Cult, Vinnie Moore e tanti altri, non solo come bassista ma anche nelle backing vocals.

Jurgen Blackmore (guitar):
Nato nel 1964, figlio del famosissimo Ritchie Blackmore, che ha fondato i Rainbow dopo l'abbandono dei Deep Purple, non poteva che seguire le orme del padre, cominciando a suonare la chitarra all'età di 10 anni.
Dopo tanta gavetta negli anni '80, all'inizio degli anni '90 si fa conoscere col suo J.R. Blackmore Group a livello internazionale e partecipa anche lui a diversi progetti, tra cui una cover di “Smoke On The Water”.

Paul Morris (keyboards):
Come Greg Smith, anche Paul Morris entra nella storia dei Rainbow con la reunion, rimanendo nella band all'incirca per lo stesso tempo del bassista, e girando per Europa, Giappone e America in tour per “Stranger In Us All”.
Ha collaborato già diverse volte con J.L. Turner, così come con l'ex Savatage Chris Caffery e DORO.

ENGLISH VERSION:
Over The Rainbow is a band which gathers former Rainbow members as well as the son of its founder Ritchie Blackmore. The group is now touring Europe, and will arrive among the other places, at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki (Finland) on the 10th of October, and at Estragon in Bologna (Italy), a week later, on the 17th (only italian date).
After several successful shows in Russia and other Eastern Europe countries, finally they are on their move towards the heart of the Old Continent, bringing with them a breeze of old good Rock'n'Roll!

BRIEF BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES:
The band is composed by five musicians whom not only have contributed to Rainbow's history, but to the history of Rock itself:

Joe Lynn Turner (vocals):
Has been part of Rainbow from 1980, replacing Graham Bonnet, untill the band was disbanded first in 1984. From this point begins his solo career, which lead him to collaborations with musicians such as Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Glenn Hughes, and also Graham Bonnet himself.
His impressively huge discography includes countless projects in which he took part from '76 till now. In 2008 Over The Rainbow is born, together with other ex-Rainbow members, and Blackmore's son, Jurgen R. Blackmore.

Bobby Rondinelli (drums):
Members of Rainbow in early 80's, after Cozy Powell, he then decides to start a career of his own with his brother Teddy (guitar), in a band called Rondinelli. He recorded and played with many bands such as Black Sabbath, DORO, Quiet Riot and Blue Oyster Cult.
When he is not busy with other projects or tours, Rondinelli performs in various clinics, and is a drum teacher too.

Greg Smith (bass):
Smith joins Rainbow during the 1994's reunion, 10 years after the band was disbanded, untill 1997, recording the album “Stranger In Us All”. He has already collaborated in the past with J.L. Turner, but also with other famous artists such as Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, Dokken, Blue Oyster Cult, Vinnie Moore and many more. He is not only known as a bassist but also as backing vocalist.

Jurgen Blackmore (guitar):
Born in 1964, son of the notorious guitarist Ritchie Blackmore - Rainbow's founder after his departure from Deep Purple – Jurgen followed his father's steps, learning to play guitar at the age of 10.
After gaining experience through the 80's, in the beginning of the 90's starts earning international fame thanks to his J.R. Blackmore Group, partecipating also in many projects, e.g. a famous “Smoke On The Water”'s cover.

Paul Morris (keyboards):
Like Greg Smith he joined Rainbow during the reunion period, playing with the band from 1994 to 1997, and touring in Europe, Japan, and America promoting the record “Stranger In Us All”.
Among the others, he joined forces many times with J.L. Turner, but also with former-Savatage Chris Caffery and DORO.
